Beverly (Jeremy Irons) and Elliot Mantle (Jeremy Irons) are identical twin gynecologists who shared everything, from their medical practice to their apartment, even their women. That is, until an internally misshapen movie star (Genevieve Bujold) comes between them, inspiring the reclusive Beverly to emerge from behind his brother's shadow.
